What exactly is “task mining”? In the rapidly evolving landscape of enterprise software, “task mining” has emerged as a new solution category that aims to complement process mining. The general consensus is that task mining encompasses monitoring of user activities on the desktop, typically through screen scraping or object recognition, to identify automation opportunities. Many task mining solutions in the market today do just that and do it well. However, task mining can be a lot more than that.
